What this course is

Most HR functions are busy but reactive. They run payroll, handle issues and keep the lights on, but they do not have a plan a managing director would recognise as strategic. This course closes that gap.

Over three live sessions you build a real strategic HR plan, spanning 12 months to three years and tied directly to business goals, using a clear, repeatable method: pillars and projects, properly planned, properly timelined. You leave with a genuine plan, not notes.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain what makes HR strategic rather than administrative, and articulate it to senior leadership
  • Build a strategic HR plan structured in pillars that align to specific business goals
  • Break each pillar into projects, assign owners across the HR and leadership team, and set realistic timelines
  • Secure leadership buy-in and run alignment meetings that keep the plan live
  • Lead the plan as a change programme and measure progress with meaningful HR metrics

How it runs

Session 1 · 11 August · 7pm–9pm Irish

Foundations & the People pillar

What strategy means in HR, the pillar method introduced, and the People pillar worked in full.

Session 2 · 14 August · 7pm–9pm Irish

The Compliance & Systems pillars

Irish, UK and EU legislative updates, policies and the handbook, GDPR and health and safety, then HRIS, AI and HR metrics.

Session 3 · 22 August · 12pm–4pm Irish (half day)

From pillars to a delivered plan, and leading it

Breaking pillars into projects, owners, timelines and buy-in; leading the plan as change; HR metrics; and the course assessment.

What this course is

Getting a disciplinary process wrong is one of the costliest mistakes an employer can make. This course teaches you how to get it right, step by step, using real-life scenarios.

The core message runs through everything: a disciplinary case is won or lost on the HOW, on whether due process was followed and any dismissal carried out correctly and fairly, not on who did what. Employers certain the employee was in the wrong still lose when the process does not hold up.

What you will be able to do

  • State the legal framework for discipline and dismissal, and why fair procedure is decisive
  • Run the six-stage disciplinary process correctly, from preliminary assessment to appeal
  • Apply a proportionate sanctions ladder and route matters correctly between absence, performance and conduct
  • Handle suspension lawfully, understanding it is normally on full pay and is not a sanction
  • Prepare a complete evidence bundle for a hearing
  • Draw the right lessons from recent real cases where the employee won and where the employer won

How it runs

Session 1 · 25 August · 7pm–9pm Irish

The law & the six-stage process

Session 2 · 28 August · 7pm–9pm Irish

Practical workshop

A role-played disciplinary hearing, a scenario clinic, building the evidence bundle, real cases worked in depth, and the course assessment.
